Zusammenfassung

Während der letzten zehn Jahre ist eine Reihe topischer und systemischer neuer Aknemittel oder Aknemittel in neuen galenischen Formulierungen auf den Markt gekommen. Die Wirkungen bekannter und vor allem neuer topischer Aknemittel sind hinsichtlich ihrer molekularen Wirkungsmechanismen unter Einwirkung auf die wesentlichen vier pathogenetischen Faktoren der Akne besser beleuchtet worden. Obwohl eine enorme Flut an Informationen über klinische Studien vorhanden ist, genügen nicht alle diese Untersuchungen den nunmehr an sie gelegten Ansprüchen der Evidenz-basierten Medizin. In der Zwischenzeit sind in verschiedenen Ländern wie in den Vereinigten Staaten, Frankreich, England, Kanada und Deutschland Leitlinien für die Aknetherapie veröffentlich worden. Da die Fortschritte der Entwicklung in der Therapie und auch die Entdeckungen neuer pathophysiologischer Zusammenhänge kontinuierlich publiziert werden, bedarf es auch der Adaption der therapeutischen Vorgehensweise [6,11,25].
