Abstract
It doesn’t exactly seem like yesterday but I was jolted when I was confronted by the fact that we first met more than fifty years ago — more than half a century. Whoever thought of celebrating your birthday with a volume of recollections of friends did everyone a favor. It should bring you great joy. For the contributors if affords them the opportunity to relive a part of their life with you in the background.
