Zusammenfassung
Bei der Entstehung und Entwicklung des Lungenkarzinoms spielen, wie bei anderen soliden Tumoren auch, nach heutiger Vorstellung eine ganze Reihe von biologischen Pathomechanismen eine Rolle. Während der letzten Jahre haben die Ergebnisse der Forschung zu einem deutlich verbesserten Verständnis dieser verschiedenen Mechanismen geführt. Hierzu gehören
-
• unterschiedliche genetische Veränderungen,
-
• Mechanismen einer autokrinen Wachstumsstimulation,
-
• eine zu beobachtende Suppression der Immunabwehr, die möglicherweise vom Tumor selbst induziert wird, sowie
-
• Störungen der Angiogenese.
