Zusammenfassung

Die Psychoonkologie befasst sich mit den psychosozialen Auswirkungen von Krebserkrankungen und ihrer Bewältigung. Im folgenden Beitrag werden zunächst Art und Ausmaß psychischer Belastungen (Depression, Angst) bei Krebskranken sowie die Effektivität psychologischer Behandlungsmaßnahmen erläutert. Anschließend wird dargestellt, wie das Konstrukt „Lebensqualität“ definiert ist und auf welche Weise diese gemessen werden kann.
