Zusammenfassung
In Deutschland sind ebenso wie etwa in den USA Krebserkrankungen die zweithäufigste Todesursache, wobei Krebserkrankungen vor allem im höheren Lebensalter gehäuft auftreten. Aufgrund der steigenden Lebenserwartung ist also mit einer steigenden Zahl von Krebserkrankten zu rechnen. Erst kürzlich ergab eine Befragung bei US-Amerikanern, dass auf Platz 1 der ernsthaften Gesundheitsprobleme mit 87 % die Krebserkrankungen stehen. Speziell Brustkrebs wurde von 84% der Befragten gesondert hervorgehoben. Damit standen die Angaben bezüglich Krebs noch vor HIV bzw. Aids mit 82 % und Herzerkrankungen mit 80 %.
