Zusammenfassung

Gerade in letzter Zeit wird viel berichtet über die Antibiotikaprophylaxe in der Tierernährung. Die Gabe von Antibiotika — oft in niedriger Dosierung — im Tierfutter soll das Angehen von Infektionen verhindern, so dass die Tiere besser gedeihen. Ob diese Annahme wirklich zutrifft, ist nicht mit Sicherheit zu belegen; anderseits entsteht dadurch ein Selektionsdruck auf die Bakterienpopulation, so dass eine Zunahme von resistenten Stämmen in den Veterinärbereichen beobachtet wird.
