Part of the book series: Radiology Illustrated ((RADILL))

Abstract

A wide spectrum of benign structural and functional abnormalities may affect the stomach and duodenum including duplication cyst, diverticulum, volvulus, web, Brunner’s gland hamartoma, and SMA syndrome. The evaluation of patients should be performed with multiple imaging modalities and consideration of patients’ clinical history for correct diagnosis and appropriate treatment. In order to avoid mistaking these structural and functional diseases for other common abdominal conditions, radiologists need to be familiar with the imaging features of these abnormalities and their complications.
