Abstract

Esophagitis may result from several infectious, inflammatory, and other causes. Clinical history, physical findings, and endoscopic examination are important in the evaluation of esophagitis. Because of the increased survival of immunocompromised patients, infectious esophagitis has become a common medical problem.
