Zusammenfassung

Freiwilligenarbeit findet in einem gesellschaftlichen Kontext statt. In dem Maße, in dem sich Gesellschaft verändert, verändert sich auch Freiwilligenarbeit. Neue Formen des Engagements kommen hinzu. In diesem Kapitel schauen wir uns 3 Engagementformen an, die charakteristisch sind für den Wandel der Freiwilligenarbeit: Freiwilligenarbeit bei Großevents, Freiwilligenarbeit, die mit Reisen verbunden ist, auch Voluntourismus genannt, und virtuelle Freiwilligenarbeit. Wir gehen der Frage nach, wer aus welchen Beweggründen in diesen neuen Formen aktiv wird, und versuchen zu erörtern, welche Bedeutung diese Formen für die Engagementlandschaft als Ganzes haben.
