Difficult and Complicated Cases in Refractive Surgery

Abstract

A highly irregular and astigmatic cornea following refractive surgery or infective keratitis is a therapeutic challenge. Phototherapeutic keratectomy (PTK) is an effective tool for partial or total corneal transplantation, preventing more invasive surgery. Here we present two cases of irregular astigmatism, one after refractive surgery and the other after acanthamoeba keratitis, both treated with transepithelial sequential custom therapeutic keratectomy (SCTK).
