Abstract

It is known that the complete correction of high myopia can be achieved by few surgical procedures. Bioptics (the term introduced by Roberto Zaldivar) is the combination of intraocular surgical techniques and corneal surgery [1–5]. In this technique, most of the refractive defects are corrected with the phakic intraocular lens and then LASIK is performed to correct any residual refraction errors. Bioptics offers several advantages, but we should keep in mind the possible endothelium complication related to the phakic IOL [6].
