Zusammenfassung

Der folgende Aufsatz beschäftigt sich mit Begriffen und Konzepten für jene Formen des Umgangs mit psychoaktiven Substanzen, welche keine pathologische Relevanz haben oder welche die biopsychosoziale Gesundheit von Menschen verbessern. Diese Drogengesundheitsforschung ist in Zahl und Qualität noch marginalisiert zumindest was die psychoaktiven Substanzen angeht. Dies zeigt sich am ehesten durch die Unsicherheit im Verwenden von Begriffen, Konzepten und Theorien. Welchen Stellenwert hat die Gesundheitsforschung über psychoaktive Substanzen für den Umgang mit den Risiken des Substanzgebrauchs? Die Mehrheit der Menschen, die eine oder mehrere psychoaktive Substanzen konsumieren, werden in ihrem Leben weder abhängig, noch erleiden sie einen bedeutsamen gesundheitlichen Zwischenfall, der durch ihren Konsum verursacht würde (Csete et al. 2016; Glynn et al. 1983; Zinberg 1984). Zugleich sind Alkohol, Tabak, viele Arzneimittel und illegalisierte Drogen beträchtlich an der Morbidität und Mortalität der Bevölkerung beteiligt – sie stellen also eine wesentliche Gesundheitsgefahr da (Degenhardt et al. 2008; Hall et al. 2016).
