Sleep Disorders in Psychiatric Patients

Abstract

Restless legs syndrome is a common neurological disorder that is underdiagnosed in large part due to the myriad of presenting features. It is associated with significant morbidity, and early recognition and management can have a profound impact on quality of life. This chapter discusses the clinical features, epidemiology, pathophysiology and management of restless legs syndrome and outlines some of the major obstacles to successful treatment.
