Chile s a country in South America occupying a long, narrow strip of land between the Andes mountains to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. It borders Peru to the north, Bolivia to the northeast, Argentina to the east, and the Drake Passage in the far south. It covers 743.5 thousand of square kilometers and has a population of 17.27 million. Its GDP reaches $248.59 billion in 2011. Through the index system and evaluation model, the environment competitiveness index of Chile ranks at 24 in 133 countries.
