Abstract

Acne keloidalis nuchae is a chronic inflammatory follicular disorder, primarily affecting black men, which presents with persistent papules and, in some cases, keloidal plaques on the occipital scalp and posterior neck. Acne keloidalis nuchae overwhelmingly affects postpubertal men of African descent. The condition can be treated with various medical treatments, lasers, and surgical modalities depending on the stage of development. This chapter will review the pathomechanisms, clinical presentations, and treatment of acne keloidalis nuchae.
