Abstract

Wikis and tools like Apache Subversion are wide-spread and used in various application areas. This paper presents a concept based on DokuWiki and Apache Subversion (SVN) to create and manage software-related seminar papers. While DokuWiki presents the content of the seminar paper, SVN manages referenced source code from the DokuWiki pages. The paper presents also experiences on applying this concept to a student seminar. It concludes the advantages and drawbacks of this concept in practice, based on student and advisor evaluations. The outcome is a well-working combination of Wiki and SVN, which in advance requires agreements on some usage-guidelines.
