Zusammenfassung
Nachdem im vorangegangenen Kapitel die einzelnen Bestandteile und morphologischen Aspekte der einzelnen Bauelemente des Nervensystems vorgestellt wurden, soll im folgenden auf die Entwicklung und Differenzierung der neuronalen Strukturen näher eingegangen werden. Hierbei sollen besonders die zellspezifischen und molekularen Grundlagen der Neuronendifferenzierung, die Morphogenese größerer Schaltstrukturen im zentralen Nervensystem der Wirbeltiere detaillierter besprochen werden. Denn die entwicklungsabhängigen Vorgänge bilden u.a. die Voraussetzung für das Verständnis des Funktionsgeschehens im Nervensystem ingesamt, stellen sie doch die Grundlage für höhere assoziative Hirnleistungen, vor allem für die Ausprägung komplexerer Lern- und Gedächtnisleistungen dar.
