Abstract
It is important to mention that it was only in 2004 when Luxembourg adopted a law on competition and two competition authorities were created. On 23 October 2011, a new law on competition was introduced. The substantial rules have not been changed by the new law. The main objective was to merge the two competition authorities into a new competition authority with new powers and to enhance an efficient application of the law.
