Zusammenfassung
In den 70er und 80er Jahren gab es in der Gefäßchirurgie wenig Neues. Mit den ersten Implantationen von endovaskulären Aortenstentprothesen am Menschen durch Volodos et al. 1984/85 (11, 12) und Parodi et al. (5) um 1990 hat eine völlig neue Ära begonnen. Den Gefäßchirurgen muß mit dieser Indikation klar werden, daß die Gefäßtherapie nicht alleine der interventionellen Radiologie oder gar der Kardiologie vorbehalten sein darf. Inzwischen hat die Methodik sogar Eingang in gängige Operationslehren (1) gefunden.
