Zusammenfassung

The hypothalamo-hypophysial system is related to the reproductive organs in two ways. Firstly via the hypothalamo-hypophysial nerve tract which innervates and controls the secretion of the neurohypophysis (posterior pituitary gland), and secondly via the hypophysial portal vessels through which the hypothalamus maintains and regulates the secretion of the adenohypophysis (anterior pituitary gland).
