Zusammenfassung

Die Echokardiographie ist bei der Diagnostik der Endokarditis eine völlig unumstritten indizierte Methode (6). Ganz generell kann man die in Tabelle 1 wiedergegebenen Untersuchungsziele formulieren: Die Echokardiographie dient zum einen zur Diagnosestellung, zum anderen ist sie darüber hinaus fähig, wichtige Beiträge zur Therapieentscheidung zu leisten.
