Zusammenfassung
Nucleinsäuren kommen gewöhnlich im Zellkern als Desoxyribonucleinsäuren (DNS) und im Zellplasma als Ribonucleinsäure (RNS) vor. Die im Zellkern enthaltenen DNS dienen zur Speicherung der Erbinformation und übermitteln somit alle für eine Art und für ein Individuum charakteristischen Merkmale an das bei der Fortpflanzung entstehende neue Lebewesen. Außerdem geben sie naturgemäß während der Lebensdauer eines Lebewesens diese Information bei jeder Zellteilung weiter.
