Abstract

One of the more important questions upon which present interest in endo-crinology is focused concerns Chose factors which control the activities of the glands of internal secretion. What are these factors, and in which way is their influence transmitted to the endocrine organs so as to result in integrated action ? Known factors of this kind are either external, such as light, temperature, and humidity, or internal, such as a given metabolic condition or the functional state of a specific effector organ.

Part of the work reported in this article was done under a grant from the American Cancer Society.
