Abstract

This databook is concerned with the static and dynamic characteristics of oil films in the journal bearings most frequently used in high-speed rotating machinery. These characteristics, which exert a fundamental influence upon the vibration and stability of rotors, have been obtained both theoretically and experimentally and are presented in tables and graphs. The book is intended to contribute to the proper and vibration-free design of rotating machinery.
