Zusammenfassung
In der Principal-Agent-Theorie wird der auf einer asymmetrischen Informationsverteilung und einem opportunistischen Verhalten basierende Interessenkonflikt zwischen den beiden Entscheidungsträgern Principal und Agent untersucht. PRATT/ZECKHAUSER (1985) charakterisieren das Verhältnis zwischen den beiden Entscheidungsträgern allgemein:
„Whenever one individual depends on the action of another, an agency relationship arises. The individual taking the action is called the agent. The affected party is the principal.“1
