Abstract
On the genesis of thrombosis and atherosclerosis, adherence of blood platelets to the subendothelium of a damaged vessel wall is thought to be of primary importance [1]. It is obvious that rheological factors play a crucial role in that process. In particular, the geometry of the vessel wall, the motion of the various blood cells and the interactions of the blood particles with each other and with the vessel wall are subjects of current research [2].
