Abstract
Because of the high prevalence of vascular diseases in general and their importance as the most common cause of death in the western world [2], a sensitive and specific, if possibly early, always available, non-invasive diagnostic method is of great importance. A method, which complies with the demands almost best, is Doppler-sonography with continuous wave emission (cw-Doppler-sonography); in the meantime this method has got an ideal complement by duplex-sonography also in practice, [1,2,3]. The main indications and further proceedings are shown in Figure 1.
