Abstract
The effect of heat absorbing filters and heat reflecting mirrors (hot mirror) as compared to heat transmitting mirrors (cold mirror) has been investigated with respect to the reduction of the IR-radiation produced by a Low Voltage Halogen Reflector Lamp. A HER-Lamp 12 V 100 W (64627) was used as a reference light source. The highest IR-reduction at the lowest loss in illumination intensity in the beam is achieved by heat transmitting mirror (cold mirror). Higher IR-reduction is obtained by heat absorbing filters, however, only in connection with greater losses in illumination intensity.
