Summary
A computer program system GRANET (Graphical network planning) is described which allows to perform activity-knot oriented networks by means of plotters. This system applies a rectangular Cartesian lattice on the equidistant points of which the activity knots are inscribed. The assignment of an activity to a lattice point is fixed by the network planner by means of an design lattice. With that he directly influences the structure of the network. The coordinates of the activities prescribed by the arrangement of the activities in the lattice are part of the data input of the system. In the following we are reporting about the basic rules and elements of GRANET which are the fundamentals of the high graphical quality an clearness of the network design. Beyond that a brief report is given on the introduction of GRANET within the product planning system.
