Abstract

In this chapter the rationale for developing the MS modelling approach and the main features of such a model will be exposed. By way of introduction, we give a critical assessment of the firm in AGE models and reflect on selected topics commonly found in partial analyses dealing with the internal and external economic organization of the firm. Only those selected topics that are of direct relevance for the elaboration of the MS model are chosen.
