Zusammenfassung

Für das Thema der Knochenmarkregeneration ergibt sich aus der phylogenetischen Betrachtung, daß sie in gewisser Weise unabhängig von der Frage der Blutzellregeneration bewertet werden muß und kann. Aus der Klinik ist bekannt, daß sich Blutzellen unter pathologischen Bedingungen aus extramedullären Geweben (Milz, Leber, Organe des reticulo-histiocytären Systems) regenerieren können. Eine solche extramedulläre Blutbildung ist bei bestimmten Säugern physiologisch (z.B. Mäuse, Ratten) und kann in der Regenerationsphase nach Ganzkörperbestrahlung sogar verstärkt sein. Weiterhin ist heute sichergestellt, daß die Blutbildung des Knochenmarkes durch im Blut zirkulierende Stammzellen wieder in Gang gesetzt werden kann, falls diese durch Einwirkung cytotoxischer Noxen ausgeschaltet worden war. Andererseits wird unter physiologischen Bedingungen bei höheren Säugern (Hund, Affe, Mensch) das Fließgleichgewicht des Erythro-cyten-, Granulocyten- und Thrombocytenspiegels durch eine ständige Knochenmarkregeneration aufrechterhalten.
