Zusammenfassung

DIVA stellt eine Umgebung zur Unterstützung kooperativen Arbeitens dar. Beruhend auf der Metapher eines virtuellen Büros, werden die für Kooperationen wesentlichen Elemente eines realen Büros modelliert. Verschiedene grundlegende Aspekte des gemeinsamen Arbeitens werden unter einer einheitlichen Schnittstelle integriert, die die übliche Desktop-Metapher erweitert. DIVA unterstützt Kommunikation zwischen Benutzern über das Schalten von Video- und Audioverbindungen, Kooperation über Mehrbenutzeranwendungen sowie die Wahrnehmung der Handlungen anderer Benutzer. Alle diese Aktivitäten werden sowohl für synchrones (zeitgleiches) als auch für asynchrones (zeitversetztes) Arbeiten unterstützt.
