Summary

The ground-based measurement of emissions from stack exhaust gases is simulated by radiative transfer calculations. The PCFORTRAN software contains a line by line algorithm for calculating atmospheric transmittances and radiances for classified weather conditions corresponding to LOWTRAN 6. The plume background is treated as a multi-layer system. A selection of characteristic spectral regions is performed to determine the concentrations of H2O, CO2, CO, CH4, NO, NO2, SO2, N2O and HC1. As an example, different plumes and meteorological conditions, respectively, are simulated for HCL.
