Abstract
In 1928 while continuing his experiments with the spectrohelioscope, Hale devised one of modest dimensions which could be produced at a small cost. It is intended to be used at a large number of places in different latitudes to examine the development and progress of solar phenomena of brief duration as continuously as possible1.
