Zusammenfassung
Die Pflanze wächst in Wäldern in Westbrasilien von 8–22° südl. Br., besonders in den Staaten Para, Maranhao, Pernambuco, Bahia, Espiritu Santo, Minas geraës, Matto grosso, Rio de Janeiro und Sao Paolo. Seit 1866 macht man in Ostindien Anbauversuche mit der Pflanze.
