Abstract

This chapter contains an exposition of the Yang-Mills approach to interactions, based on representing them with the aid of gauge fields, i. e., connections in suitable vector bundles. Such an idea can be justified by the case of electromagnet ism, discussed in Chapter 4, where connections appear quite naturally.
