Abstract
The authors study “in vitro” the intimai changes of big saphaenas veins, induced by different doses of laser irradiations. Argon and Nd-YAG lasers carried by optical fibers in internal wall were used. The big saphaenas veins, with saphaenectomy of the lower limbs were removed and successfully irradiated with laser. Both lasers treated each big saphaena, at different doses. The goal was to verify the possibility of clinical application of the laser photosclerosis by endoscopic way, and its utility. It is necessary then, a correct appraisal on risk/effectiveness ratio of this laser treatment as compared to traditional therapy. Before the clinical approach, it is necessary also, to establish what kind of laser and how should we employ in each venous pathology.
