Abstract
The thoracoscope was inserted into the unilateral thoracic cavity on six dogs with sterile technique. The power at the tip of the fiber was 5 W, energy density was 12797–22395 J/sqcm. The dogs were killed at 0,1,3,7,14 and 28 days respectively. The macroscopic findings showed 1x1x1 cm scar tissue formated at 14 and 28 days. The microscopic findings showed the restoration process was excellent. No hemorrhage or air leak could be found in all animals by X ray. This pilot experiment shows that the peripheral lung tumor can be treated with YAG laser by thoracoscope.
