Summary

The clear cornea no-stitch technique which was developed by us and first applied in December 1991, is a new operation technique in cataract surgery which has proved successful in a follow-up of more than one year. This technique can be applied with a multitude of indications. The results with regards to post-operative astigmatism and vision as well as the complication rate can be compared with those observed with the corneoscleral no-stitch technique. According to our experiences, the clear cornea no-stitch technique is suited as a routine operation technique.
