Abstract
The exploration of the deep continental crust, aimed at solving the fundamental and applied geological tasks, has become a top priority at the present stage of geoscientific development Deep observation of the Earth’s structure is necessary to clarify the geological history of the planet, to study the endogene processes and the substantial nature of seismic interfaces, to further develop the general tectonic theory, as well as to perceive the laws of mineral resources distribution. Since the mineral deposits occurring at great depths will gain utmost importance in the foreseeable future, there is a practical need for accurate information on the deep continental crustal structure containing the major part of mineral resources.
