Abstract
DOSECC is a private, nonprofit corporation founded in 1984 by a consortium of universities to design and manage a continental scientific drilling program in the United States. Membership currently consists of 44 US universities with major earth sciences curricula and research programs. Primary funding is provided by the National Science Foundation (NSF), with additional program support from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the Department of Energy (DOE), and DOSECC’s member universities.
