Abstract
Calmodulin is the receptor of Ca2+ (acting as a second messenger) in transmission of biological information between cells [1, 2]. It is a calcium binding protein present in every eucariotic cell without any tissual specifity and acts as an enzyme activator modulated by cellular concentration of Ca2+. It is a single peptide chain (P.M.=16700) containing four Ca2+ binding sites, whose affinity has been established to be high for sites I, II, and low for sites III, IV, with a difference of a factor 10.
