Selective Reactivity of Functional Groups in Glyceraldehyde 3-Phosphate Dehydrogenase

  • Chapter
Pyridine Nucleotide-Dependent Dehydrogenases

Abstract

The structural basis of enzyme function can be approached by different methods. It is beyond doubt that the most detailed description of the three-dimensional structure of polypeptide chains is achieved by X-ray crystallography. It is also evident that the data obtained v/ith indirect methods i.e. by enzymological or physico-chemical techniques are indispensable in the interpretation of X-ray results.
