Abstract
A year ago I was casting about during my mid-life crisis trying to figure out how to meld my seemingly mutually exclusive interests in medicine, science, teaching, sports, travel and financial security. Dropping the last goal temporarily, I decided to try to land a university research-teaching position in sports medicine. Easily enough said, nearly impossible to locate.
