Abstract

The nations of the world have established a series of organisations for international collaboration. Of world-wide coverage and of particular significance are the organisations of the United Nations’s family, where sovereign states are the members. Two of these organisations are actively concerned with sports: UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) with sports and culture and the WHO (the World Health Organization) with sports and health.
