Rheological characterization of polymer solutions using a disc rheometer

Abstract

A disc rheometer of simple construction is presented and tested for suitability as a measuring instrument to be used under production conditions. The proposed procedure is based on measurements of the radial pressure distribution in the slit of the disc, which is compared with the results of theoretical analyses of the flow.
