Abstract
Rheological constitutive equations are presented for concentrated solutions and melts of monodisperse polymers within the range of slow relaxation processes. On this basis the rheological behaviour of linear flexible polymers is analysed in shear and extensional flows. The effect of slow and very slow relaxation processes in these basic rheometric flows is studied.
