Abstract

In the paper we formulate a mathematical model and perform a multiobjective analysis of the real-life problem of health service areas reorganization. The model is formalized in terms of linear programming with three objective functions. The values of these functions vary significantly depending on assumed hierarchy of the objectives. Nevertheless, the multiobjective analysis allows us to find an efficient solution and this yields a significant improvement in the health care system performance. The multiobjective analysis is performed with the MPSX/370 package which can be regarded as a standard commercial tool for solving linear programming problems.
