Abstract

This paper shows how the results in the multiattribute utility theory and the measurable value function theory can be utilized for ranking multiattribute alternatives. An application to the ranking of coal power plant sites is discussed. The approach discussed here significantly extends the range of assessment techniques that can be used in a particular analysis, and allows a richer interpretation of the results.
