Abstract
Although the term hepatic lobectomy can apply to removal of either the right or left lobe of the liver, the problems discussed in this chapter are applicable mainly to total right hepatic lobectomy. Extirpation of the left lobe is a comparatively benign procedure which can be performed in conjunction with other types of intra-abdominal operations.
